About

I am interested in interactions between freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems. Specifically, how can freshwater be utilized to conserve terrestrial wildlife, and how can nature-based techniques within the terrestrial realm protect aquatic species? My current research investigates to what extent water scarcity determines the movements and behaviors of wildlife in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park in Botswana. There is almost no research about how surface water quality affects wildlife distribution, a question with implications for environmental management and reducing human-wildlife conflict in the region. Prior to Yale, I worked for the USGS and was a Thomas J. Watson Fellow studying the impact of climate change on freshwater ecology and global salmon fishing communities.
