About

I see myself as a conservation practitioner. Prior to YSE, I spent five years on the frontlines of wildlife conservation across 10 provinces in China. My work ranged from species population monitoring to local perception mapping, and developing community-based initiatives, with a focus on species such as the North Chinese Leopard, Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey, and those on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. My current interests lie in human-wildlife interactions, both traditional and contemporary, and in strategic conservation planning that integrates ecological, social, and cultural dimensions to foster coexistence. My master’s project will be examining how anthropogenic factors influence the spatiotemporal distribution of the Yunnan Snub-nosed Monkey. Additionally, I enjoy photography and poetry as ways of interacting with and advocating for nature.
