![]() There's something new happening over on our Pubs Page! From here on out, whenever we publish a paper, we're going to include a short 50-word summary targeted towards the general public. Just click those "50 words" icons next to a paper and you'll be able to read the summary. Over the next few weeks we'll be going back through old publications to fill out the list, but we're excited about this challenge and opportunity to try to bring our research to new audiences. Readers: what do you think? Any ideas for further improvement? Other scientists: Will you try to do the same on your lab websites? We're looking forward to getting more summaries up on the site, and we'd love to hear what you think in the comments below.

I commend you for this initiative! The "50 words" summary concept is a brilliant way to make research more accessible to the public and foster understanding across disciplines. As a suggestion, consider adding graphics or simple infographics with your summaries to make them even more engaging. As the head of research communication at my organization, I am inspired by this initiative and will propose implementing something similar on our platform. It's a promising step towards more inclusive science communication!

Brilliant initiative to make research more accessible! The 50-word summaries are a game-changer for those of us who want a quick grasp. Eager to see more and hoping other labs adopt this approach.
